COVID-19

To protect front line heroes in our community, we put our 3D printer to work to make protective masks and face shields. They were donated to EMTs, hospitals, and nursing home staff who needed them during the shortage.

There was a need

In the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, our community, like very many others, faced a shortage of protective N95 masks. As the owners of a LulzBot TAZ 6 3D printer, we were in the position to help those that are trying to save lives. Our front line heroes put their lives at risk to help and treat Covid-19 patients. Our community was in desperate need.

Honored to help

With our 3D printer and an open source blueprint for a protective mask designed by doctors and engineers, we were able to help. The masks were designed to be used in place of the N95 masks when there are none available. There were two models we were able to produced. Both were made with MERV 13 filters to help protect against Covid-19.  For additional protection we also produced and donated face shields. These items were donated to nursing homes, hospitals, our local EMTs, as well as those who are high risk. We were honored to be able to help our community.
